Johann Gutenberg

A calendar illustration done around 1982.  It depicts Johann Gutenberg, the inventor of the movable type printing press in 1439, at work in his print shop. I took some liberty with the gold leaf.  The model was an old friend from NYC, Jim Spillane. 18″x18″ Acrylic on gessoed masonite.

Purple Dog

Happy Fourth of July! Happy 18th Birthday Emily! One of my first digital paintings of a little old dog looking out to the digital  future,  from a wasteland of broken and useless art studio materials. Ready to learn some new tricks.

Crumbling Ego
